Express vs. All-Stop trains
- AREX Express (₩9,500–11,000): Incheon T1/T2 → Seoul Station nonstop, 43–51 minutes, departures every 20–30 minutes
- All-Stop train (₩4,950): stops at every station along the way (Hongdae, Gimpo etc.), ~60–70 minutes — but it's the only train that drops you in Hongdae directly
If you're staying in Hongdae or near Hongik Univ station, the All-Stop train is actually better than the express. For everywhere else, express is worth every won.
Buying tickets
Tickets are available at the station, but online booking is cheaper — discount platforms sell the same QR-ticket at ₩500–1,500 below counter price, and let you skip the ticket machine queue entirely. You scan the QR code straight at the gate.

From Seoul Station to your hotel
Seoul Station connects directly to Lines 1 and 4 and the Airport Railroad itself. If your hotel is near a Line 1/4/2 stop, you're one transfer away. Too much luggage? Kakao T from Seoul Station is a short, cheap ride to most central hotels — flat-rate airport taxis are the expensive mistake, not this.
One thing to remember
The last express train leaves Incheon around midnight (T2 slightly earlier). Late arrivals should budget for the late-night bus or a metered taxi — and check your arrival terminal. T1 and T2 AREX platforms are separate; going to the wrong one costs you 20 minutes.
